Kaneta Orimono is a Japanese textile manufacturer specializing in natural fibers, primarily cotton. With over 70 years of experience, the company uses 22 vintage shuttle looms from 1965, the largest number in Shizuoka Prefecture. Their highly skilled craftsmen maintain these looms, producing fabrics with a unique, firm hand feel.
The company’s materials are known for their durability and quality, and they soften over time with use. Kaneta Orimono also produces fabric from ultra-hard twist yarn, which results in a material that is wrinkle-resistant and drapes well. The yarn is treated to be as lustrous as possible through processes like gas singeing and mercerizing.
